Google goes Linux-friendly

Apparently Google has gone Linux friendly, offering repositories for various distributions for easy software installation. Go Google! Step-by-step GUI configuration instructions are available for Ubuntu, Debian, Mandriva and Suse. See this page for more information.

Packages (and easy updates!) available for the following Google software:

  • Picasa
  • Google Earth
  • Google Desktop

    Yes. They run Linux.

    But releasing software for Linux and offering nice packages in repositories in native format for several distributions is what I call ‘Linux-friendly’
